It is also moving in that we are learning a ton about forces and motion!
We have been using our lunch room during center time to expand our space for projects involving motion. Ramps, tracks, and more! It is so fun to see them connecting and learning through play.
The other day we got in our math circle, and they asked me to take a picture so they could show their parents how we do math circle. :) Here we are!
So, what do we do in a math circle? Lots of things - most of all, we count! We build number sense in fun ways. One thing we do is start with one person who picks a number 1-100. Then we each say a number, counting by 1's around the circle until we get back to where we started! It helps us count higher and higher in a way that is engaging!
We also play games to get us thinking, such as "If I say 13 and we are counting by 1's, what number will ____ say?" (that really gets us thinking!!)
We are now working hard on two part stories! We are working on our stories having a beginning and an end. An example of this in Kindergarten would be: "It was raining outside (beginning)." "I got my umbrella. (end)"
We also enjoying writing stories to match brief picture prompts during Daily 5!
We are reading up a storm!
We like to read all over the room - especially in the library!
We have been reviewing short vowel sounds, and one of our favorite songs is Vowel Bat! It is so catchy! You can check it out in the video link below.
This past week was a great one, and we loved celebrating Mother's Day with our moms, grandmas, aunts, and friends! We are looking forward to another great week!
